Introduction: Why Do I feel Like this?

Therapy can be useful for all kinds of lifes challenges. Common reasons to start are anxiety or depression, but also when you are struggling with a relationship, or relationships generally or maybe are unsure how to proceed in some circumstance. But a great deal depends on how we feel about ourselves. The emotional lens we look through when we consider ourselves. This feeling might not even be immediately visible to us, just something we’ve accepted about ourselves for as long as we can remember. It might be a critical or damning voice, which might conflict with what we cognitively know to be true and positive about ourselves, yet it persists. We know one thing but we feel another.

The following are a series of articles about why we might feel the way we do, the mechanisms that create and perpetuate it and approaches to working through it.

They are probably not your circumstances but generalisations so you can get an idea about what might be meaningful specifically to you. Just examples.

I will add more from time to time as I complete each article.
